Julie has been at IMT since 2014, coming to the nonprofit world after working five years in the Obama Administration, at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy. There, she worked on a number of state & local initiatives focused on accelerating the adoption of energy efficiency on a national scale.
Prior to her work at DOE, Julie worked in New York City government, under Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s leadership, to advance a range of energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. She also served in the City of Baltimore’s Department of Housing and Community Development, improving the City’s ability to attract and retain private sector developers. Julie began her career in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ environmental consulting practice.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science degree in global energy management from the University of Colorado at Denver.
