Chris began working as an associate at IMT in 2012 and was one of the first communications staff members to join the organization. As Communications Manager, he supports all of IMT’s core programs and helps lead strategic communications for initiatives that unleash the full potential of more energy-efficient buildings and greater climate action in the U.S. These initiatives include IMT and the Department of Energy’s Green Lease Leaders program, the Small Business Energy Initiative, the Landlord-Tenant Energy Partnership, and the American Cities Climate Challenge. Chris manages a range of communications activities that include media relations, editing and writing IMT publications and online resources, overseeing IMT’s blog (The Current) and monthly newsletter, and implementing digital media strategies for the organization’s websites.
Chris came to IMT from Fenton, a social change communications agency, where he worked with clients such as the Electric Drive Transporation Association and MoveOn.org. Prior to Fenton, Chris worked as a freelance editorial assistant, writer, and videographer. His articles and videos have appeared in the New York Times, on National Public Radio, and on the websites Climate Progress, GreenBiz.com, and RenewableEnergyWorld.com.
