The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Commons is the first multifamily Passive House-certified retrofit project in the country. Located in the District’s Ward 7, Weinberg Commons provides 24 units of affordable housing (60% AMI) and 12 permanent supportive housing units (30% AMI). With comfortable units, utility bills near zero, and minimal operating costs, the nonprofit developer, Housing Up, has been able to put more resources toward case management and other services to support its residents and their well-being.
