Hub to help District of Columbia real estate and building professionals achieve ambitious climate goals.

When the District of Columbia passed the Clean Energy DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018, it became the first U.S. city to require owners of a broad swath of existing buildings to improve their energy performance in order to cut the District’s greenhouse gas emissions by almost one million tons a year. The High-Performance Building Hub will provide critical hands-on assistance to the District’s real estate community and building industry professionals to make these emissions reductions happen.

The Institute for Market Transformation, under the leadership of Mayor Muriel Bowser, is leading the development of the Hub, which will launch in 2020.
