IMT is pleased to announce Mary Jean Herron as our new Chief Operating Officer.

Mary Jean has been a senior-level executive at nonprofits and entrepreneurial firms as well as Fortune 500 companies. She brings to IMT a wealth of experience in organizational consulting, finance, strategic planning, operations, risk management, and human resources.

Before joining IMT, Mary Jean was a consultant offering advice on strategy, risk management, and financial management to small and midsized organizations. From 2006 to 2012 she was Chief Financial Officer of Health Care for the Homeless, a nonprofit health provider in Baltimore. During her tenure there, she was responsible for the development and construction of a LEED Gold-certified medical building, sparking her interest in green building and energy efficiency.

A graduate of Leadership Maryland and a CPA, Mary Jean holds a Master of Science in finance and an MBA in finance from Loyola University Maryland. Additionally, she earned a Master of Science in speech pathology and a Bachelor of Science in speech pathology from the university. She has garnered many awards during her career, including The Daily Record Innovator of the Year award and a Smart CXO Executive Management Team award from Smart CEO magazine. She has twice been recognized as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women by The Daily Record, and was recognized by Who’s Who Worldwide for Excellence in Finance in 2012.

Actively involved in her Maryland community, Mary Jean serves on several nonprofit boards and has been a member of several statewide commissions.

Mary Jean's strategic vision is essential to IMT's mission of promoting energy efficiency in buildings. IMT's board and staff are delighted to welcome such an outstanding leader to our team.
