The Institute for Market Transformation is proud to welcome Maureen Waters, Partner at MetaProp, as the newest member of the organization’s Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Maureen Waters to the IMT Board of Directors. Her extensive experience in commercial real estate and technology, as well as her deep experience with nonprofit board service, is greatly appreciated as IMT seeks to catalyze widespread, significant action on sustainable, resilient buildings,” said Adam Hinge, Chair of the IMT Board of Directors.

As a Partner at MetaProp, Maureen Waters spearheads the company’s Innovation Practice, utilizing her deep business transformation expertise building and scaling businesses from inception to unicorn to extend MetaProp’s global reach and in-house capabilities with both strategic limited partners and portfolio companies.

Prior to MetaProp, Maureen was President of Ten-X, the largest online transaction marketplace, powering more than 90 percent of all online commercial real estate sales (backed by Google Capital and Stone Point Capital). Maureen led the strategic transformation of the business to expand beyond the traditional ways of transacting real estate including digitizing the operating model and building and launching white-label products. Following the transformation, the business was acquired by Thomas H. Lee Partners in 2017 and CoStar in 2020. Maureen previously served as Chief Commercial and Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer at Ten-X.

Prior to joining Ten-X, Maureen was head of real estate and asset management at Bill Gates Investments. She also spent 15 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where she served as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Head of Business Development, and six years at CBRE after they acquired CB/Madison, a startup business where she was a partner.
