Margaret Hansbrough is a Senior Associate for Market Engagement. She brings to IMT a decade of experience from public policy to political organizing on the local and national levels. Her role at IMT is focused on integrating market solutions and policy approaches to maximize the organization's impact.
She joins IMT by way of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office, where she spent three years, first on the Innovation Delivery Team and then joining the sustainability team. Most recently, as the Director of Energy Policy for Mayor Emanuel, she managed clean energy strategy and program development and implementation including renewable energy and energy efficiency. She has deep expertise in program and policy development and implementation for diverse sets of stakeholders.
Before Chicago, Margaret served on the policy team of Mayor Sly James in Kansas City, Missouri, where she led education and government efficiency policy. Margaret holds a Master's in Public Policy from Loyola University Chicago and a bachelor’s in Economics and Political Science from Rockhurst University.
